How many people awaken every day knowing they are elder orphans? How many others lie awake wondering who will care for them when they near the end of their lives? How many families struggle caring for a sick child or parent? Now imagine how many of these same people would be be served if every faith community added a committee of volunteers from within the hearts of its congregations
who had been trained as
compassionate care companions?
Each committee, no matter its size would not only take dinners, run errands for its sick and elderly congregants they would also learn to see each other with new eyes. Supporting one another from a
deep place of listening,
companionship and care.
"Tender words we spoke to one another are
sealed in secret vaults of heaven.
One day like rain, they will fall to earth and grow green all over the world."
